Organization Overview

The Bioinformatics Resource Center (BRC) provides bioinformatics analysis, experimental design consultation, software infrastructure, and training to the scientific community at The Rockefeller University. With a specific expertise in the processing and analysis of high-throughput genomic sequencing data, and in collaboration with both wet and dry lab biologists, the BRC aims to support and accelerate the diverse and cutting-edge research conducted at the university through the creation of analytical pipelines; the analysis of biological data via direct collaborations; and the training of Rockefeller's faculty, students, and scientific staff.

Overview

The successful candidate will work within the BRC both to provide analysis support to research groups and to establish the bioinformatics infrastructure and training necessary to promote high quality computational biology research within the university. This position will focus on single-cell RNAseq and ATACseq bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of Bioinformatics data (single-cell/single-nuclei RNAseq/ATACseq/Multiomics)

  • Development of Bioinformatics training (single-cell/single-nuclei RNAseq/ATACseq/Multiomics)

  • Creation of bioinformatics software/pipelines for the analysis of single cell/nuclei data

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree

  • Advanced training in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Biological Sciences, preferably at the PhD or postdoctoral level, or equivalent research, industrial or commercial experience.

  • Expertise in the analysis of single cell data including single-cell/single-nuclei RNAseq and ATACseq.

Preferred:

  • Experience working within a Bioinformatics team to provide analysis support to research groups

  • Proven ability in software development and the collaborative use of source control

  • Experience in training biologists and bioinformaticians in the use of bioinformatic tools

  • Track record of contribution to peer reviewed publications

USD $80,000.00/Yr.
