Job Title Electrical Foreman
Laboratory / Department Plant Operations
Plant Operations offers comprehensive services at The Rockefeller University including a full range of building trades services which are responsible for routine maintenance and minor/major space alterations, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, grounds maintenance, locksmith, custodial, moving and setup services.
The Electrical Foreman will supervise shop personnel and handle electrical building projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities include assigning tasks, inspecting electricians' work and monitoring overall team performance The Electrical Foreman will also be responsible for reading blueprints, defining and ensuring quality and safety standards are understood and met, and acting as a primary liaison to all internal personnel and external contractors on electrical projects.
High School or Trade School diploma required. Must be BSL-3 certified and have a minimum of fifteen years of experience in the electrical trade field. Must have knowledge of fire alarm fitness S95. Previous supervisory or team lead experience in a University or similar setting highly desired. Must have general operating, repair, and adjustment knowledge of mechanical equipment and power tools. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be able to move, push, pull, or lift equipment, materials, and tools weighing more than 50 lbs., climb extension ladders, work overhead, and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move within confined areas including crawl and attic spaces. Must be willing and able to work in all types of weather, work overtime with last-minute notice and be reliable during emergency situations. Must be willing to work in BSL-3 laboratories around 120, 208, 277, and 480 volts.
